Hi! I’m Karol!

UX/UI Designer

I’m a designer by choice and vocation.

My main goal is to be a bridge of collaboration and guidance between people and their needs.

I’m a visual designer with 10 years of experience in branding, editorial design, digital marketing, innovation, creativity, among others.

From my interest in working with people and seeking to improve their conditions, I also trained as a UX Designer (User experience) so, for the last 2 years I have been working on different projects as a UX/UI designer.

I believe that sharing knowledge is essential for joint growth, therefore, another of my passions is in teaching and I have had the honor of working as a University Professor of Design.

I consider myself a proactive person and focused on maintaining communication and collaboration between people in the team.

I am passionate about the arts and a fan of coffee (that fuel to start the day well), music, travel and photography.

Important skills I apply

  • Agile Methodology

  • Information Architecture

  • Wireframing

  • Prototyping

  • Visual Communication

  • Researching

  • Softwares: Figma, Sketch, Miro, Invision, Adobe (Psd, Ai, Id, Ae)

“I'm very interested in design with a social focus where I can unlearn, learn and develop proposals for the improvement of services and products that can become more equitable and in accordance with the needs and rights of people”

Podcast I have participated

I think that the collaboration and conversation are vital to share knowledge and create connections. Here are some podcasts and interviews in Spanish that I have participated in.

Talks

I also had the pleasure of sharing with other people as a speaker.

Interaction 21:

Together with Priscila Gonzales and Esteban Saborío I was able to represent Costa Rica in this event organized by IxDA, where we presented the talk: “Returning to walk safely: Research for solutions of street harassment in Costa Rica”, which was based on the insecurity and need for protection felt by women in Costa Rica in the face of street harassment.

Más Mujeres en UX (Women in UX):

As an active volunteer of this organization in the Costa Rican embassy, I was able to present together with my colleague Priscila Gonzales the talk: “UX from the sorority”, which was a sample of the process that we both have had in the field and the support that we as women have given each other to continue growing.

University of Costa Rica, Mobile apps course:

I had the opportunity to be invited as a speaker for the course: Mobile Application Design with students from the University of Costa Rica, where we talked about UX design, processes to become UX as well as my professional experience and the importance of belonging to communities.
